Oklahoma State trailed UTSA by 11 points with just a little over two minutes remaining at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys fought back, but still trailed by six with only a few seconds left to play. Freshman guard Cezar Guerrero became the hero of the game, scoring a conventional three-point play, then seizing an inbound pass to drain a 3-pointer to tie the game and send the Cowboys and Roadrunners to overtime. Oklahoma State ultimately prevailed 90-85 to advance to the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden. Guerrero ended the night with a game-high 29 points, matching a school record for points scored by a freshman.
